These 5 Robes Will Hook You On #RobeLife

Mario Testino, Towel Series 57. Izabel Goulart

We love a good robe. Fluffy. Silky. To the knee. Dragging on the floor. It doesn’t matter. We do prefer when it comes strewn across a freshly made bed, or propped up next to a walk-in shower. There’s something inherently luxurious about wrapping yourself in a robe, and something about that sneaky thrill of stealing one from your new favorite hotel.

But what is it about robes that oozes luxury? It’s indulgence. A robe is a personal and ritualistic. If you own one, you probably slip it on right after the shower without fail, or wrap it around yourself as you dance and get ready for a night out. And while we all secretly wish we could rock this cozy look for the world to see — like Rita Ora at the MTV European Music Awards or one of Mario Testino’s model friends in his Towel Series — draping yourself in a robe is a personal affair.

So, to help you pick out your new lifestyle accessory, we've rounded up five stunning examples of our favorite kinds of robes. Once you slip one of these on, we can't promise you'll ever want to lounge around without one. #robelife

Like your boyfriend's robe, but better. We adore this robe for it's simple yet put-together look with concealed pockets, piped collars and cuffed sleeves. It's effortlessly sexy for lounging around or whipping up banana pancakes on Sunday morning. We'd like to think that's exactly what the folks at Otis Batterbee thought when designing it, too.

With wide arms that swing and swish when you walk, a feminine, silky kimono should be a staple in any woman's closet. We love the modern twist on this one with sleeves that cut at the elbow and the delicate lace detail next to the deep, collarless neckline. You can find this luxe Carine Gilson design at Harrods.

Move over, Hugh. This contemporary twist on the mid-century Playboy robe is chic and flirty. We're swooning over this midnight-black velvet and that sparkle trim down the collar and along the sleeves. Champagne and pool boys not included with this over the top look by Morgan Lane.
